About our club

Chartered on April 22, 1983, Soroptimist International of Moreno Valley is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc.® Golden West Region.  Loosely translated, the name Soroptimist (pronounced  suh-rop-tuh-mist) means "best for women," and that's what Soroptimists aim to be:  women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.  Soroptimist is particularly concerned with providing women and girls access to education, as this is the most effective path to empower women and girls to reach their full potential.  A 501(c)(3) organization that relies on charitable donations to support its programs, Soroptimist also powers LiveYourDream.org®, an online community that offers volunteer opportunities in support of women and girls.

Meetings
Our club meets the first four Wednesdays from September through June for a one-hour breakfast meeting at Brandon's Diner, located at 24626 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA.  The 1st Wednesday is a closed board meeting at 7:00 a.m.  The 2nd Wednesday is the business meeting  at 7:00 a.m. for all members.  The 3rd  Wednesday, at 7:00 a.m., alternates between a guest speaker presentation or Soroptimist Orientation and Leadership Training (SOLT) for members. The 4th Wednesday is a friendship meeting at 7:30 a.m. for members to bond with each other through informal interactions.

Dues

Annual club dues are $150, which include International, Federation and Regional dues, Club Liability Insurance, and Founders’ Pennies. A one-time $25 new member fee covers the Soroptimist pin, badge, and new member packet.  Members are billed for breakfast meals on a monthly basis.
